As far as I know its only the song Everything you did... I do know the eagles in response made a poke back with in Hotel California with "stab it with their steely knives"
TBD - in that episode Yacht Rock took what was a subtext in reality -- never really said outloud -- that The Eagles felt inferior but would never admit it and who beat up the nerdy 2 (with sales etc) as conpensation. I was startled by how close to the truth it was. I guess it was noticable to a careful listener and article-reader....
Steely knives! Very interesting. I get that the reference to the neighbors are listening is as much about the times, circumstances, and people being described.
Yacht Rock aye...pretty much what I thought, wasn't sure if there was anything deeper, likely not other than perhaps a miriad of poking personal jokes at it.
If Frey really did retort with that, he should really have simply accepted the truth.
The only one by SD I know of is "Turn up the Eagles..." on Everything You Did. As far as I've heard, it was only chosen because the Eagles were very popular at that time so it kind of fit the narrative. And the only one by the Eagles I'm aware of was "Stab it with their steely knives..." on Hotel California. Glenn Frey did say that was some kind of direct rebuttal to the Everything You Did lyric. Probably all in fun.

I think the only real depth of that troupe came from Henley in End of Innocence. Even then, not disguised very well.
