Having read references to SD and WB music I understand SD was considered Jazz/Rock music. I can mostly agree with that although whenever questioned, much Jazz music is mentioned, never heard any Rock & Roll music or bands referenced. Blue eyed Soul isn't Rock necessarily. Of course from DF's actual tour drippings he mentions he had never heard an AC/DC song and wouldn't know one if he heard one (private gig for RDJ)! My question is, how can that be? But that's a question for him. Now I understand Musicians and especially accomplished ones not listening to other people's music or even much of the, for lack of a better word POP or Rock & Roll radio. My question for our WB friends here is understanding that Walter favored and certainly generated a Jazz/Reggae style if you will, what if anything did he like, ever listen to, or seek out that was categorized as Rock & Roll? Are there any Rock bands or any Rock music that he liked, followed, listened to?

Anyone care to share sd Eagles references? I have read about them here but never knew about them. Are they in ridicule or praise and respect?

Firstly, thank you for creating this site and forum, what a treasure and it's great to learn of Walter's affection for his fans. SD music has always been able to take me places without leaving the chair, I'm sure it affects others the same way. Much of it is the fact that what they are saying is not direct and it is not immediatley clear what the song is actually about until years of listening. They always seemed to be ahead of the curve. Then Walter decided to make a record, I confess I was obsessed with 11TW. I listened to it in the car mostly, as I've now heard from him direclty, it was made for it (thx again!). When I gave it to others to listen to I got what you all got from them, "it's great but, it's a little dark! Then came CM, it's just as dark as 11TW yet somehow, it's more up beat LOL. Darkling has the word right in it but isn't it a chippy tune as well? I'm a worker Bee, so, I don't get a lot of time "in my place". When I get there, it usually is a spot with the ocean running right up to the door and with my libation I listen to CM, Home At Last, On The Dunes and I'm in "my place".
